MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TEXAS: The Libertarian Party of Montgomery County will host a Constitutional Carry celebration at Saddle River Range on Sunday, July 25. The event is scheduled for 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

On June 16, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1927, allowing Texans who are 21 years old to carry handguns without a license. The “Constitutional Carry” law will take effect on Sept. 1, at which time Texas will become the 21st state with a constitutional carry law.

“This a huge win for gun rights in Texas,” said Jessi Cowart, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Montgomery County. “Many of us here in Montgomery County actively lobbied for this bill, some even making the trek to Austin to testify on the House floor. For those of us who believe the Constitution is our license to carry – that defense of person and property are inherent individual rights – this a huge win for liberty in Texas too.”

The celebration will feature guest speaker Felisha Bull, Deputy Director at Gun Owners of America (GOA) – Texas. Ms. Bull will provide an overview of how the bill traveled through the Texas 87th Legislature and answer frequently asked questions about Constitutional Carry. She will also discuss legislative priorities for future sessions and be available for media inquiries.
